The trekking tours are offered “all inclusive”. Guide, porters, the permit for the national park, camping gear, cooking gear, all food and drinks are included. We are able to cater to all fitness levels, so do not hesitate to visit us! Remember, all animals are wild and we do not feed them, so we can never promise any sightings. However, the chance of seeing orang utans on a 2 or 3 days trekk is nearly 100 percent in our experience. Note: you will not be able to see tiger, rhino or elephant on a normal trekk. To have a chance on seeing them, you have to take a long trip of up to 7-10 days of trekking to the interior of the forest, a very interesting and challenging adventure.
The trekking tours will be organized only for you, because we do individual tours.
1, 2, 3 and 4 days "easy" trek for 2 people costs 500,000 IDR per day per person. The more demanding and ambitious tour have longer walking time and go deeper into the jungle and cost 100,000 IDR extra per day per person. The 2 days more demanding tour goes until the hot springs.
For the trekking please bring closed shoes, long trousers, a swim suit and a torch/flashlight. Camping gear (sleeping bag, thin mat) and anti-leech socks will be provided. We will store your luggage during the Trek.

While in Ketambe, why not stay a bit longer and explore some of the surrounding areas and our wonderful river bed? You can organize your Guesthouse through us. There are wooden rooms and wooden bungalows with a terrace, double bed and attached bathroom with western style toilets. Price for one wooden room is 150,000 IDR, for one wooden standalone bungalow is 200,000 IDR per night. The newer bungalows have western toilets and western showers and a small cabinet as well and cost 200,000 IDR. Prices for rooms/bungalows are without breakfast.
Best time for Ketambe Jungle Trekking
Based on experience, the best time to visit Ketambe is between juni– Oktober. It’s the fruit season where the wild Sumatran orangutan, Hornbill, Thomas Leaf monkey and other endemic exotic wildlife of Sumatra foraging for foods. However, in other months is also possible to visit this area as sometimes the fruit season also changes due to global warming.
If you are traveling out of the fruit season, then you will need to explore deeper into the jungle to meet the wild Orangutan Sumatran.
As the Ketambe jungle trekking is mostly up and down the hill, crossing the river, more chance to having rain (we will enter the tropical rain forest of Sumatra) we highly suggest using trekking pole, rubber boots, poncho (rain jackets) always handy at your day pack. Not so many mosquitoes as we will be in the highland but sometimes leeches. Remember that this is the BEST place to spot WILD SUMATRAN ORANGUTAN living free at their natural habitat of Gunung Leuser National Park where the famous actor Leonardo di Caprio spent some of his busiest time to visit this place
