We, the people of Ketambe, welcome you to our Official Ketambe Tourism Website. Ketambe is a village located to the southeast of the Aceh province, right at the foot of Gunung Leuser National Park. Tourism is the main income source for most people here and the Corona Pandemic hit us hard. Since March 2020 no international tourists are able to visit Sumatra and also local tourism is heavily restricted. The loss of income is devastating for all families living in the Ketambe area and this economic crisis increases the threat for illegal logging and wildlife poaching. However, it motivated us to work harder together and try to improve our Tourism Managment. By launching this Website we hope to be able to gain more popularity among international Sumatra travellers and local tourists and ehance the livelihoods of all Ketambe families. This will help us to conserve the wonderful jungle around us with all its Biodiversity.
Lets save the green lungs of the world!
